Sculptures

‘Forest Fortitude’.

Born out of my affinity for wildlife, nature and the spiritual; comes my debut into the world of sculpture entitled ‘Forest Fortitude’ - a modern take on the traditional ‘wood spirit’.

This piece is available for purchase with worldwide shipping , to inquire please use the contact form on the about page or the buttons below.

Design

A uniquely designed anthropomorphism of nature.
At the foundation, a bust, paying homage to those of the European renaissance, combined with compositional nuances seen in abstract act. This bespoke design is an amalgam of modern and traditional, a balanced aesthetic that would sit well in a gallery environment as well as a home setting.

Process

As any design process the idea for this piece started with pencil and paper. With a background in CGI sector I utilized 3D software to create visual references.
The piece in its physical entirety was created with both traditional and power carving tools.

“ Bobby Martev’s woodcarving journey started in a unique way by making wooden decoys for duck hunting. He quickly became passionate about carving and began expanding his projects beyond hunting season. “I am mostly inspired by wildlife and nature since I love being outdoors and always seem to get my best ideas outside,” he said. Bobby’s carvings often have a connection to his life, such as making monogamy birds as a wedding gift for close friends or carving a majestic mountain lion since none live in the U.K ”
